I see this game is no longer able to be purchased on Steam. This has be worried for several reasons, first I purchased it on Steam, and two I have not even been able to play one turn without CTD. get constant CTD's when I am looking over the game UI and looking at the pop ups for there associated meaning. So is this game no longer going to be supported on Steam? Should I post here or in the Matrix forums?

If you have installed the game in the default Steam folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam... try to install it in a different folder like for example in C:\Games\...., and check if the issue is fixed.

For installing a Steam game in a different folder, you'll need to add a new Steam library folder. Please follow the following tutorial on how to do it:

Its installed here: C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Commander The Great War

The CTD seem to be related to mouse over information, but due to their frequency the came is not playable. Any info you guys/gals need to help solve this?

It's related with your Windows but not becasue it's 8.1.

Please attach the ctgw.log file and a DxDiag report.

How to get the ctgw.log file:

If you ever get an error or crash, please attach the ctgw.log file to your report, this will help us identify the problem. The logs are in your Documents, so the default is "Documents\My Games\Commander The Great War"

IMPORTANT: This log is overwritten every time you start the game. Please make a copy of the log after any crash/bug you want to report before reloading the game.

NOTE: Please put your attachments in a .zip or .rar format, before you upload it here on the forum, if not, it will not upload at all.

How to get a Directx Dialog file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. open the text file, copy the contents, and post along with your issue.

Thanks for the help! Also I forgot to mention I was moving a German cruiser into the north sea by England if that matters at all.

I sure does! :) Could you please provide a savegame from before that move?

Also: patch 1.6 is waiting in the Steam queue to go live any day now. There is big chance your problem is fixed there

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems with your game.
