Initiative Points

In my more recent games i dont seem to be getting any initiative points so i consulted the manual to find out why.Initiatives points are given for the following
Inspired commander=2pts
12-24 Cavalry,Camels,Light Chariot or Light horse =1 pt
More than 24 Cavalry,Camels,Light Chariot or Light horse=1pt
My latest game I have Ancient Spanish, mainly mf impact foot but i took an Inspired commander as i always do with horde armies.I recieved no points for the IC and rolled a 4 giving me 4 for initiative roll.My opponent had Later Carthaginian with what looks to be a little over 12 cav maybe 16 and an inspired commander. The initiative points he recieved were 4 plus rolled 3 total 7. Now according to the manual i should have recieved 2 Initiative points and my opponent 3.I believe this to be a bug as something isnt right here. Is anyone else having this problem? Some how i havent recieved any initiative points and this makes a huge difference to winning initiative.Could someone from slitherine explain what may be happening here?
Cheers Turk

I too have wondered about this recently, the initiative calculation for the PC game can be found her
http://fog-pc-wiki.wikispaces.com/Initiative (assuming it is accurate). In a series of recent games I invested heavily in Inpired (+2) and Field (+1) commanders and horse units (+2) and so expected to get initiative in most of the battles, I got it in none. I'm wondering if the bonus is only being calculated for the person receiving the invitation because I posted the battles for the opponent to accept.

This is what the manual of the game (extracted from FOG wiki) says regarding initiative:
The initiative goes to the side with the most initiative poinits:
Inspired commander = 2 points
12-24 cavalry, camels, light chariots or light horse = 1 point
More than 24 cavalry, camels, light chariots or light horse = 2 points
Your initiative score is the sum of the above plus the score of one six sided die.
Cheers!

I think the actual calculation is:
IC = +2
5-12 cavalry, etc. = +1
> 12 cavalry, etc. = +2

Gday all. As i have stated its 2pts for an inspired commander.1 pt for more than 12 cav, camels,LC and LH . If you have over 24 Cav,Camels,LCand LH you get a further 1 point. This is stated in the game manual.I didnt recieve the 2 pts for an Inspired commander, which the Manual said i should of recieved. This is very strange and i feel there is a bug creeping in.
Can everyone keep their eyes on games played and see if points are awarded correctly for initiative as this is a crucial part of the game.I know there is noone to fix any problems with the current game and feel i am playing with a game that is basicly flawed at the momment.

I agree that I think it's broken. It should be easy to test: Create some armies which meet the criteria for initiative points. PM them to a willing opponent, post the game and the willing opponent can reply with the points displayed. If it is correct, no issue, if it is wrong then Slitherine can investigate.
Turk: If you want to create some games for me to accept that would be fine - just PM passwords to me. and I'll PM the initiative scores back to you. We don't have to play them (unless you want to).

According to the table top rules (v1

) There should also be a point for a field commander, but I've noticed in all my recent games this doesn't happen.

Yes Morbio and i agree that the Initiative point selection is not working properly

I think its awarding points haphazardly and like i said ive had a game where i didnt even get points for an IC.My Palmyran army is never awardeed a point for an FC and have been taking an IC to make sure i get something.Yes its broken and im afraid theres noone to fix it Greetings so we just have to endure until the new version comes out
