Warsaw north report (scenario 7)

After scenario 6 i was given a choice either to attack from the north or the south. This first time i picked the north. I think whatever you choose, the tactics are more or less the same.
All my core units were reinforced and upgrades where unnecessary.
The last SE unit was awarded, so it makes the set of 3 complete. I always keep those infantry class SE units for Norway. After the norwegian campaign i start to dismiss them one per scenario.
This scenario is the first one ever where you can actually capture enemy equipment. Well, that is a great idea... perhaps later capturing a CharB tank or a Mathilda II perhaps?
I managed to get all 4 artillery pieces and they made a difference. At least, capturing Warsaw went much faster. The polish airforce, or what was left of it, were just like nasty flies. I picked them off all too easy. I was actually surprised the fighters didn't go after my bombers but went after my self-propelled artillery and tank units instead, a futile attempt. The only polish bomber i noticed never had a chance to attack. By turn 7 the encirclement of Warsaw was complete and steadily aided by the captured artillery, i could do quite some shelling. Like in this mission, or just like in the previous ones, some polish units are only half strength (or less). I haven't really made a point of it until now since i always had the impression that the polish campaign's difficulty level should be a novice level. I do hope that later during this grand campaign, enemy strength will be more of a challenge.
During this mission an idea crossed my mind. You can have core units, 3 SE units....why not up to 3 or so captured units?
This scenario reminded me of a Warsaw scenario in a mod for the original Panzer General. Unfortunately i cannot recall which mod that was but that scenario was tougher than this one.
But with the novice level in mind, this scenario does provide a challenge, and the AI does attack my units from time to time but always makes the same mistake. I am not going to move my artillery pieces in front (unprotected) of the enemy (intentionally) as the AI does to fill up an empty VH.
I finished the mission in 11 turns, leaving me with 2753 prestige points and no units (core and aux) lost.
