AT guns overpowered (against infantry)

I expect AT guns being nasty against tanks and quite vulnerable against everything else, specially inf.

But, when i attack them with my own infantry i get quite modest results (they lose 2...maybe 3 strenght). I´m playing now the Kiev scenario and some Russian 45mm AT guns are attacking one of my infantry units in a plain hex and i got 4 losses! And on next turn they inflict 3 more losses.

With a "Soft attack" of 3 i don´t know how that´s possible. It´s not a lucky roll, in every scenario i´ve played AT guns are hard to wipe out and they are quite useful defending units, even against infantry, which are supposed to be more than capable of dealing with them.

Sometimes i feel i´m playing the old PG when the AI cheated and the most humble russian unit with no experience was capable of destroying a 15 german pioneer with a single blow. :(

Anti-tank guns are somewhat durable in the open with 6 ground defense. This is compounded because they are soft targets, and generally soft attack ratings for all units are generally low, compared to hard attack values.

However an anti-tank gun sitting in the open is easily bypassed (their mobility stinks, and if they enter transports, they become extraordinarily vulnerable) and an anti-tank gun on a city or rough terrain hex is slaughtered by infantry (0 close defense).

Good to know! I´m not used to the "close defence" value yet.

2-3 in the open becomes 1-7 in close terrain.

Yes, my infantry can fire at two targets at once. They're just that uber. (Photoshop helped a little ;))
