There's a long time I want to make such a battle report.
To defend my point of view about V2, I finally do it spending all saturday afternoon for the game and all sunday for the report.

Excellent report. And I agree with your final analysis about shooting.

Fantastic AAR, being a complete FOG noob (with 6 Chinese armies waiting to be used) its nice to see them in your AAR, quite informative, great stuff.

Nice report!
Not sure what your point is about shooting though - the Chinese are probably one of the best armies to fight a Parthian style army with?

Thank you for the AAR. These are always fun to read and yours is well done.
As to your point regarding shooting, I agree with you. Having faced heavy foot armies with no ability to concentrate fire sufficiently is no fun. Rather makes one wonder how the Mongols and Huns did so well.

I think most people would feel that the huns and mongols have the advantage over heavy foot armies in an equal points game.

Perhaps. I have only played around 20 games. Most of those have been in tournaments. I have tried several Arab variants, Ottoman Turks and Comnenan Byzantines with a large compliment of LH.
Here in the US, I invariably face some type of HF with rear support and an IC. It has proven nearly impossible to shoot these troops down. I have been forced to fight hand to hand. Not my cup of tea really. In hand to hand my opponent invariably has the POA(s).
Recently I faced a Ptolemaic player with sufficient Pike Blocks to literally cover the table edge to edge while in hub to hub contact. He also had an IC and thorakitai for rear support.
What's a bloke to do?
My thoughts were some form of terrain (in this instance we played on a pre-set tables and our table literally had no terrain on his side), or perhaps an attempt at a flank march.
I'm open to suggestions.
