I'm thinking about a later sicilian army for my new army in 2011. Here are a couple of lists I'm contemplating. All comments welcomed.

1x6 LF, Unprot, Poor, Undrilled Crossbow (communal crossbow)
1x4 LH, Unprot, Ave, Undrilled, Jav, Lt Spear (Berbers)
2x4 LH, Unprot, Ave, Undrilled, Bow (Saracens)
2x4 LH, Prot, Ave, Undrilled, Bow (Saracens)
3x8 HF, Prot, Ave, Undrilled, Def Sp (Feudal spearmen...)
1x4 Cv, Arm, Ave, Drilled, Lance, Sw (Saracens)
2x4 Kn, Hv Arm, Sup, Undrilled, Lance, Sw

As a basic best practice change the sixes of LH to fours.

Too many lights and too little punch for my liking.

If your 2 units of knights fail you its game over!

I prefer the first list but with LH in BGs of 4.
Too much MF in the second list for a medieval army.

do'h. That was a mistype - all the light horse are actually in 4s. (I wonder how many points this would be if those were 6s?)

For me it would be the second list of the two but you are going to have to be quite careful with your lights.

This is the kind of army that my Early/Middle Hungarian list is designed to chew up and spit out with hopefully not much effort.

Interesting that Hammy and Frederic hold opposite opinions.

Hammy, how is your Hungarian army designed? How would you design the Sicilians?

I'm looking at a (pre-Aragonese) Sicilian list with 3-4 BG of undrilled superior and average knights supported by drilled lancer cavalry and HF/MF, with hardly any skirmishers. Any comment on that idea?

I'm also curious about what Nik thinks needs changing in the book.

Nik, Hands-off

Don't worry, I've edited it back to roughly what it was originally.
