Shooting evaders

After ours first (successful and fun) game last night one question came up, where I think we played it right but thought I would check.
If Dragoons (or others) evade from impact, and are not caught by the chargers were we correct in saying that the attempted chargers can shot at the evaders in that turns shooting phase?
We played that they were.
Also, if instead of evading in the impact phase, troops broke after impact and were pursed but contact had not been kept by the pursers, then again the pursers can shoot into the back of the broken unit in the same turn?
Again we played they could. Note, the only reason to do this would be to try to generate base loss via death rolls.
