I'm sure Slitherine is aware of this upcoming game from Forced March Games since both companies are working with Matrix.
Here is a quote from the designer of the game:
JW: I didn’t have the time or the resources to include a detailed tactical system for battles. The current system of tactical battles is rather simple, and is mostly a reflection of strategic considerations and known strengths. So a player cannot win the game through superior tactical skill. That has some validity for a strategy game but I know that many players want to manage battles in a more detailed way.

WG: What are your plans after Hannibal?

JW: I want to do a follow-up to Hannibal which would also be set in the ancient Mediterranean, and use a similar system of game play. I also have an idea for an RTS with fantasy elements in it. And I definitely want to do a serious system for tactical battles as an add-on for Hannibal.
Wouldn't it be a nice opportunity for a joint effort to bring a strategic layer to FOG. For me to be interested though, it must be possible to play MP campaigns :D

It would be nice but I think the two companies are keeping their primary roles seperate, ie Slitherine appears to be a developer of games (inhouse) where as Matrix is a producer for small indie companies.

I am crossing my fingers some day for a Slitherine made campaign game (that has the same MP capacity as Fog) that integrates the DAG for tactical battles.

Perhaps RBS can comment on this. The TT FoG timeline inlcudes a campaign system, siege and even naval rules in the future. Maybe these will be ported to the PC when available, whenever that might be.

Actually I can't, except to say that it is under discussion.
