Assuming little variance in the Tupi list I'm looking forward to fielding nearly 100 bases of Bow*hammy wrote:
There are a fair few bow* MF armies in Blood and Gold
Seconded but it's actually their heavy weapons that excite me.stenic wrote:Assuming little variance in the Tupi list I'm looking forward to fielding nearly 100 bases of Bow*

Not sure, RBS kindly confirmed that the majority are MF, ave, prot, Undr,Bow*, Hvy Wpn. I would imagine there are a few LF with javelin or bow, or the equivalent of blow-pipes and that's probably it unless a few can be superior. The DBM artillery option is probably too late for the list dates.Scrumpy wrote:So what do the Tupi get apart from loads of bw* stuff ?
Protected??? With what?stenic wrote:Not sure, RBS kindly confirmed that the majority are MF, ave, prot, Undr,Bow*, Hvy Wpn. Grading is all relative to historical opponents, and the Tupi were known for being thick-skinned - or at least, anyone who used them in DBM had to be thick skinned to take dogs abuse they would usually get from other players for using such a resolutely cheesy army, usually with totally inappropriate figures as well.carlos wrote:Protected??? You can have them either unprotected or protected. The latter being for those tribes who used big shieldscarlos wrote:Protected??? If they have a big shield, how can they have a Heavy Weapon - I thought that Heavy Weapons were Rhomphaia, pole arms, two handed swords etc. all of which would require two hands to wield. Therefore surely those with big shields would have fought more like Swordsmen?grahambriggs wrote:You can have them either unprotected or protected. The shields were for protection from enemy shooting. Presumably they dropped them or slung them on their backs when in melee or themselves shooting.DavidT wrote:If they have a big shield, how can they have a Heavy Weapon - I thought that Heavy Weapons were Rhomphaia, pole arms, two handed swords etc. all of which would require two hands to wield. They don't need the shield when they are fighting hand to hand because they know the POA for the shield doesn't make any difference so they can throw it behind them.DavidT wrote:If they have a big shield, how can they have a Heavy Weapon - I thought that Heavy Weapons were Rhomphaia, pole arms, two handed swords etc. all of which would require two hands to wield. Unless they're fighting unprotected non-heavy weapon armed enemiesThey don't need the shield when they are fighting hand to hand because they know the POA for the shield doesn't make any difference so they can throw it behind them.
