Op Typhoon as Germans

Has anyone, anywhere, in any time/universe, and without using magic, played Typhoon as the Axis vs the AI as Konev (!) and won? Or am I wasting my time with it and I should just go to the full campaign? It's incredibly frustrating to find a game where nothing seems to work, or even go right.

It's a savage set of victory conditions for the Axis - I can't even get close to the historical result.

I thought the idea of the games vs AI was to act as 'tutorials', to get the new player to get familiar with the game - if that's the case I'm out of here. What's the point if you can't stop losing?

Pity really, because I bought this game after trying the Bulge version, which I'll take beyond playing the AI.

Just an update - tried the whole campaign version this time, thinking it couldn't get any worse.
Wrong.
An elite Panzer unit went 6 turns without scoring a single hit. Read that again - 6 turns. If I were that unit's commander I would either shoot him or send him to the Eastern Front. Since he's already there he can stay there. Except of course the unit was destroyed - no surprise there.
I resigned on game turn 17 after losing 8 units. Seriously, how the f*&K do I win in this game?

Yes.

It´s actually not that difficult, but there is a trick to it.

You have to exploit the Prepared Offensives and Russian Turn 1/2 movement restrictions to the fullest.

Isolate most frontline Soviet units. Not to kill them, but so that nothing much is in the way of your spearhead Panzer Groups to reach the juicy Victory Cities and/or Moscow. I once got Moscow in Turn 4 and would have won on points as well.
