Problems after latest update and DLC

After downloading the latest patch and DLC I had the following message when starting the game:
Error invalid config file
Please reinstall your game or contact supprt.
Error located needs alt start.

I duly uninstalled the game but when I tried to reinstall the game I got the following message:

FOGIIM Different version installed
Set up has detected that you have a different version of FOGIIM installed
Please uninstall FOGIIM.

I clicked on the uninstall tab but nothing happens.

catch 22. FOGIIM is not listed in the apps and I have uninstalled in Documents and Steam but still it tells me I have another version installed. HELP! I can't play the game.

Edit. At least part of the problem seems to have been due to my Antivirus software. Still not quite right but I can now play the game.

Sometimes I have 'questions' per updating my Slitherine/Matrix games, particularly involving Panzer Corps 2. :)
Eventually figured things out.
Per FoG II Medieval I just did a complete uninstall (deleted the game folder per what was left) & reinstalled the new install version 1.05.06 & then applied the update 1.05.06.01.
All installed fine (to include the dlcs, pre update 1.05.06.01) & appears to be ok, for me.

I now get the first message a couple of times when I click on the desktop icon but if I close them the game then opens normally after a short delay.

I think this is probably the error that they corrected in the v1.05.06.01 version of the updater. If you download that and run it again, it will hopefully fix it.

I got the latest update of FOGII and then tried purchasing the new module. Each time I get "Error-shopping cart" despite the fact ALL of the info is exactly the same that I've used for years! Even tried a different credit card.
