As a matter of interest, why do people buy physical game disks, what's the advantage?

Yeah and I suppose if a solar flare or EMP pulse wiped out Slith's game database we'd still have the disk to fall back on because disks are forever..:)

Suppose I wanted to buy a physical disk (eg Panzer Corps 2), would it only be the initial release version?
After installing it, I'd still have to download all the subsequent updates from Slth/Matrix wouldn't I?

I guess. I have the physical version of Cyberpunk 2077 but I had to download the last patch which is 50 GB
