I was checking out the Timurid list in Eternal Empire -thinking about options of morphing my Mongols. Then I noticed under allies it lists Uzbek allies- later tribal Mongol page 71. Well my questions is page 71 of what it is certainly not page 71 of Eternal Empire?

Been asked before, answer is it will be in Lost Scrolls although as a fellow Timurid player I can't imagine what you expect to find in the Later Mongols that the Timurids don't already have.

I've noticed a lot of these sorts of things. For instance the Palmyrans can have allies that give Cataphracts and Light Horse... so pretty useless,
but I think it's mostly to do with completeness. I'd always prefer to have in list generals than allies unless the alliance gives me something that I wouldn't normally have (Numidians in the Syracusan list for example) but you can imagine the cry if someone put out a list that didn't include some definite and obvious allies?

Well, remember that FoG was written to support historical wargamers as well as tournament players, so including allies that act just like troop types within the lists allows the historical gamer to field armies that were representative of actual armies as opposed to min/maxing to create the most killer comp army at (X)xxx points.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was saying.

but surely if 24 Cataphracts are good 30 must be terrific.

Phil (Powell) certainly thinks so, and brings cataphract allies.

I tried to drown roll call from my memory as you were picking on me. Or at least that was my interpretation of the rules. Crying to my mum didn't help either.
