This is exactly why it's a bonus objective only. It's not a game ending situation by any means.
Generally understood I think.
In my case , though , I treated the "no - kill " objective as if it were a primary victory condition.
Because , as I understand the context , Germany wants to outright annex the Czech part of Czechoslovakia , but they DON'T want a full - blown war to do it .
I imagine that in this scenario my troops go in wearing their dress uniforms . Camo ? Why camo in this context ? It's NOT a war.
So I left my newly - minted infantry in default German grey for this scenario . They only get their Italian paratrooper camo in the next scenario.
I'm not sure why others treat the "no kill " objective as a primary victory condition ,

but apparently a lot of people treat it as such , even though they know it isn't .

Why are you deploying your 203mm in a 'no kill' Czech scenario?
Indeed .
The Russian 203mm is heavy ordinance , and assuming this unit debuted early in Spain , and saw a lot of use in Spain , it would have a full stars - worth of experience by the time Czechoslovakia rolls around . So a very destructive , full - on - aggressive unit. NOT a good thing when you DON'T want to destroy units.
So I left this unit in reserve for this scenario. For the same reason I brought none of my veteran tanks to this scenario. Indeed , I didn't bring any tanks.
You can't bring any aircraft to this scenario , and it is just as well that you cannot , for the same reason ; You DON'T want to destroy units.
Czechoslovakia is your first opportunity to buy and field infantry , and they will be green , so they won't do much damage anyway. You will only get incremental experience from this scenario , but Czechoslovakia is not too soon to start working on infantry experience .
So this is where I bought the bulk of , and fielded , my future infantry core.
Also a good opportunity to get some experience on horse - drawn light artillery . Sooner or later you will have a scenario that is primarily rugged / mountainous terrain , and / or where you need more artillery , but simply cannot shoe horn more 3 and 4 slot heavies into your core . It might be nice to already have a few light , horse - drawn guns that aren't completely green.
Finally , in Spain I picked up a lot of armored cars of various types. I created " Trainee recon " units and squeezed them in where ever I could get away with it.
This scenario is ideal for that. I put my veteran , first - string recons in reserve , and brought out the Trainee recons in cheap armored cars.
I completed this scenario the first time , without killing any units , with Bilboa armored cars in the lead.

Great idea ! And undoubtedly more economical than my proposals.
