A big thank you for everyone taking part and for the fine spirit throughout - even with England losing 2-1, 3-1., 4-1 few people were rattled. I think we proved that given the choice of moving around toy soldiers with friends and watching England play football there is only one sensible choice!! Also a thank you to Ilford for hosting the vent and the lovely virgin cloths that we all enjoyed.

I will post the full results and the proposed format for next year for discussion - probably get to it on Wednesday or Thursday evening. Looking at the mix there were only a few players who managed even games every time. 2 Players managed to face 3 900 pters. Most had a decent spread. If you had even games throghout you clearly picked your armies at the wrong time

We had two big wins by 700 pt armies over 900 pt armies - quite an achievement whether by luck or skill. Shows it can be done. And actually not a bad win rate out of those match ups.

Next years format keeps the variable theme but should result in:

• Far fewer equal games.
  A lot of excitement in the first 10 minutes
  Some new decisions to make each game
  A challenging army design puzzle
  Much less list checking for me (hurrah), so I might get them all right (missed 1)
  More reward for winning with fewer points

Will post it up soon. Take comments for 4-6 weeks and finalise late summer.

Well done to all winners. Pete Dalby keeps his Turban as master sultan. Simon Elliot's Roman destroyers managed to win through when against the odds against armoured Hoplites, but he had plenty spare at the end. Well done to Byron - great to see a junior nabbing 2nd place.

I enjoyed my running around ith the New Kingdom Egyptians and am starting a 25mm War of the Roses for next year!! I like the big figures!

Thanks to all players for making my job as organiser and umpire realtively easy.

4 very enjoyable games - I only had 2 even games but the proposed new format certainly sounds challenging. Dates permitting you can count me in for next year.

And what a generous crowd! I kicked off my Britcon raffle to raise funds for Cancer Research and sold 148 tickets which is a terrific boost - thank you!
