Thanks Jim and Eric for your first updates. Hopefully either TGM or Aristides will be able to post a few lines from their game too and then, with the Morbio v Radio match on AAR, we will have all the quarter-finals covered. :D

So Morbio has moved into the semi-finals with his victory over Radio. That just leaves one quarter-final match to be completed and that is the match between Aristides and TheGrayMouser.

The semi-final draw will take place at noon (UK time) on Saturday 3rd November.

On turn 4 or 5 , its 4/29 Romans to 4/50 Jewish Revolt

Unless hurricane Sandy takes me off the grid for an extended time, should be able to get it done.

OK TGM, that's good. I don't want to have to adjudicate matches at this stage of the tournament.

If you do I'll be compelled to fly over to Londinium and adjudicate your teeth

I believe the British plan of defence relies on hollering for the colonies

A near thing thing - my Judaeans (42/50) have defeated TGM's Romans (29/29).

As all the quarter-finals have finished on time I have brought forward the semi-final draw a couple of days. The two "big guns" iversonjm and ericdoman1 have been drawn together in the first match while Morbio and Aristides face each other in the other game. We still have the possibility of an all Jewish revolt final and we will definitely have a 300pt versus 350pt handicap match for the final. And Eric will be trying to get into the final for the second time - he was runner-up to davouthojo in the first running of this tournament. Good luck to everyone.

If one of you from each semi-final can let me know when your game gets underway then I can change the game status from "TO START" to "IN PROGRESS". Thanks.

Ok, that's great - both games are underway already. And if you get time, a "half-time" update from each game would be much appreciated. :D

When is half time. Do we have oranges then:)

Matt won initiative. Pretty wide open map with Matt's Dailami squeezed into a corner. My army is spread across the map with a big screen of lf. My better troops are on the other side of the map/battlefield. Just a bit of shooting at the mo but Matt's armoured chaps aren't really being affected.

It's about turn 4 in my game versus Aristides. The Seleucids have about 24 BPs and the Jews about 50 and probably 20 or so of those 50 units are archers or slingers. Probably 1/3 of the battlefield is plantation, scrub or trees and there's a river cutting the battlefield in two. Most of the Jewish melee foot are in the plantation behind the river and all the LF are in the open, but It's like trying to fight a swarm of wasps with a baseball bat. So far I have driven 1 archer off the battle field and surrounded 3 others, which will die in the next turn or two. One of my poor MF archers has been stung to death and one of my LH will probably die from anaphalactic shock soon. To make it worse one of my elite lancers just lost an impact charge against an average LF archer in scrub and disrupted - when you lose combat with a 69% win chance you know it's not going to be your day. I can't see how I can win this and I'm so glad I didn't have to document this in an AAR.

Hmm . . . could we end up with an all Jewish Revolt final then?
