Hammy when do you want them?

The sooner I get the lists the better.

I can cope with FoG:AM lists 7 days before but would prefer 14. Dave Redhead who is going to check the FoG:R lists would like them 14 days before.

I have updated the entries list as best I know at present. Look at the second post in this thread for the current list.

FoG:AM 25mm will only be run on the Sunday.

All other comps will be run both days.

If are down for FoG:R on the Saturday and want to play :R on the Sunday as well or instead then please let me know.

I have now ordered all the trohies and such so the list of comps is pretty much nailed down.

I think that is what I said but then the first submitted army was a WotR one and there is no Starter army :(

Cheers Phil, I will put you down as floating between 15 and 25 on the Sunday.

So 650pts then. May make the painting a bit easier on my son.

And we mentioned a way to sort that out.

FFS just make a decision and announce

I thought I had and we had said it was Starter armies....

I will check back through the thread as I am starting to sound like Colin Webster

Hmm, it seems that I have not specifically said that 25mm will be starter armies but it has been mentioned by me several times and nobody has objected to I will make an edict and say that 25mm will be starter armies only.

You did.

I'm painting the remaining bits for a revised, more starterish WotR army, almost as I type. I'm fine with that, but unless Hammy can come up with a WotR starter army list in the next few days, (and who better), it's probably simplest to stipulate a 600pt open competition.

... or ... and excuse me if I being dense here, does a Starter Army competition imply that WotR armies are excluded altogether? Hundred Years War English is pretty close, but needs more archers.

On a need-to-know basis, I need to know.

Peter, what are you thinking of for the starterish army?

IMO allowing a WotR army is not a problem but I don;t know what the others think.

First - thanks for the official announcement Hammy :D

I'm OK with allowing armies that have no starter army as long as they follow the general starter army rules - i.e. FC plus 2 TCs and a composition that is "typical" (subjective I know) rather than something finely crafted for comp play. Also they'd need to be made available to the other players as all the starter armies are - sight before the game should be enough, although putting them up here might be no bad thing.

What Nik said. Both times.

In that spirit ...

War of the Rose Starterlike Army (Yorkist or Lancastrian)
Field Commander C-in-C, 2 Troop Commanders
3 BGs of Men-at-Arms 4 bases Heavy Foot, Heavy Armour, Superior, Drilled, Heavy Weapons @16pts
2 BGs of Retinue Bills / Men-at-Arms 4 bases Heavy Foot, Armoured, Superior, Drilled, Heavy Weapons @13pts
2 BGs of Retinue Archers 6 bases Medium Foot, Protected, Average, Drilled, Longbow+Sword @9pts
1 BG of Retinue Archers 8 bases, ditto

total cost 596 pts

I'll send Hammy the spreadsheet.

The Northern Border contingents, firearms and artillery will have to wait for another occasion. Arguably, a starter army might feature stakes for the archers.

And you would still be under pointed v most starter armies if you took them IMO.
