Feedback on the latest draft.

I think the resupply cost is excessive; its identical to raising a new army from scratch. I don't think there needs to be a base cost of resupply, just the cost of the replacement points, as you already have the existing army structure in place.

Sorry I am somewhat late to the party. Having just stumbled on this thread; if there is a place left I would like to get involved.
Have PM'd too.

True. Should be just twice the size increase.

I think an army defending a town or city should have the option to hide behind the walls. In that case the strength of the army would be added to the defensive rating and the attacker could then besiege or assault accordingly. The defending army would have to remain in the city or town until it was completely reduced. If another army attacked the besieging force, it could opt to break out and retreat if either battle in the engagement was at least a draw.

(Yes, let's add that. The hiding army would then use the supply level of the town or city itself (1 or 2), not the terrain, potentially also enjoying port supply if applicable.)

EDIT: I decided against this in the end, since it makes the rules too complicated for my taste.

markleslie is joining the SASSANIDS, making the starting lineup as follows (we can add more interested players along the way):
  • Ironclad => ROMANS

With two more ROMAN players, we will get a level playing field, player number wise.

Thanks to and with the help from Karvon, a fully digital and more high-resolution map from VASSAL has been obtained, making the texts, borders, and terrains easier to read. I've adapted it to this campaign and the rules, with background, tables, and pictures. The full map is downloadable as .jpg HERE.

As long as you visit the forum regularly, look in the campaign thread, read and respond to the PMs, and stay in touch with me and your Roman colleagues, you should be fine. :)

Imperium Romanum II: The Year of The Four Emperors (3 players wanted)

If there are any Imperium Romanum II board game buffs out there, I'm looking at launching a very relaxed, friendly, and slow-paced campaign game with "The Year of The Four Emperors" scenario for three players (Vitellius vs. Otho vs. Flavians), with monthly turns and the land battles played out in Field of Glory II: Ancients. Campaign rules will more closely resemble those of the board game, albeit with some simplifications, but will also use a great deal from the "He Died Old" rules.

Please write me a PM or post here in case you're interested in participating.

Hi, interested! Not familiar with the board game, though. If that is a problem, then another can take my place.^^

Welcome! That won’t be a problem at all. The board game map will be used, but the rules adapted and simplified to fit FoG. Much like He Died Old.
