Besides all my skins are done with Photoshop, and not with DCS.

Ok with the mask... But how can I obtain the black "negative" silhouette? It's made using the color filler (the paint can icon) with black, and filling all the background?

About the icon: Use any of the icons I uploaded the way you like... But I uploaded a Mercedes 4500 Maultier, made with a PzII running gear (as it was in reality). Anyway, go ahead with your icon project and then if you like, share the results! I am an avid "icon collector"... :-)

Thanks Guille1434 for the use of the icon. I made one of course from the DMP Mercedes truck and a Pzr II running gear, but the drive wheel is not quite right (assuming anyone would notice that kind of detail on these size icons, LOL). I will attach a copy of the running gear and bed I am going to use. I got it from a Modeling Forum of a well built 1/35 model of the Mercedes Maultier.

Yes, that is good enough for me too, it doesn't have the big driver and bogie wheels of the Pzr II.

Chris: Thanks for the info, will look at that post.

I saw the tutorial in the beginning of the thread. Very detailed and instructive, not just about using the camo Sprayshop, but I can learn some ignored (by me) aspects of Paint.Net software!

I find this so useful that I made a pdf document of those two tutorials (mask making and using the insignia feature). Only copied the post and gave them some text formatting. Maybe you may want to include the document in the program download package for anyone to consult it off-line. I attach the pdf file in a two-part rar file with the present post.

You can thank Rezaf for the tutoral and the application. He is the master wizard, may as well change his moniker to Merlin, but he's too modest for that.

Here is a new icon for the game for those of you who want to use it. It is a late war version of the SdKfz 251D-23 with the three mounted Aircraft 2cm MG151/20 aircannons. Rate of fire was 700 rounds per minute, carried 3,000 rounds. Was a really a "BAD BOY" for soft targets reportedly. I had to title the icons slightly different as they are all in same file on my computer, but the icon and the mask will just be designated SdKfz_251_23. Ground Attack or AT version coming in next day or so along with a Flak Vierling version.

@ Jelinobas................from this link.............. http://axistanksworldwarii.devhub.com/b ... erat-921r/

"There were field modifications made on Ausf C vehicles which approximated the /21, but all production vehicles were built on the Ausf D chassis. The interior fittings-rifle racks, front and rear seats, etc-were removed and a modified naval pedestal mount carrying three 15cm MG 151 aircraft machine guns was mounted on the floor were the front seats had been. The Kriegsmarine had developed the ‘Flakdrilling Sockellafette’ (triple AA gun mount) as an inexpensive defence gun installation. As the Luftwaffe required heavier calibre guns, large quantities of the excellent Mauser 15mm MG 151 were made available for other purposes. In 1944 additional quantities of 2cm MG 151/20 machine guns also became available as the Luftwaffe increased the use of 3cm cannon. Both 1.5cm and 2cm (20mm) MG 151’s were used in the SdKfz 251/21.

The mounting consisted of a fixed base plate with a rotating conical pedestal extending up to the cradle assembly. The cradle held all three MG 151’s in aircraft-type buffer assemblies. The guns were mounted offset toward the right side to allow clearance for the belts and feed chutes. The ejected shell cases and belt links were collected on the central pedestal and rotated with the entire mount.

Three chests of ammunition were carried on the pedestal and rotated with the mount. The centre chest held 400 rounds of mixed HE, tracer & AP ammunition. The outer chests held 250 rounds. The centre chest was larger because the middle gun was more difficult to reload.

The gunner sat on a metal seat suspended from the rear of the gun mount and moved the entire mount manually; there were no gear drives or handwheels. Two hand grips, one on each side of the mount, contained triggers for firing the guns. Early gun mounts used reflector-type optical sight, but later versions used simpler speed ring sight. Later vehicles also had different armour around the guns and cradle assembly.

Additional armour was added to the body of the vehicle across the rear edge of the driver’s roof, and along the forward upper edges of the sides. Brackets were provided for the rear armour brace across the body behind the gunner, but this was generally removed. Ammunition was carried in chests at the rear of the vehicle. Total capacity was 3,000 rounds per vehicle. The rear MG42 was retained for vehicle defence."

Sorry to burst your balloon Jelinobas, it is a REAL version. I cannot say I have ever seen one in real life, but this is enough vetting for me as a production or field modification version that existed. You are under no obligation to use it in the game if you think someone else or myself made this version up.

It is a DRAGON Kit. Here is a link with the model build. They call it an SdKfz 251-17. http://scalemodels.ru/articles/4689-kon ... rsion.html. Glad you found the real picture with the GI. That's a great image.

I don't know what would be worse, being in the target sights "locked" with a German gunner on one of these or a US gunner and a quad 50. Should be devastating on soft targets and especially infantry (which is what the German sources say it was).

But i found strange, the Weapon looks like a "Flak-Tower" on a Vehicle. If you make the Weapon+Socket a bit smaler and move it more to the middle from the trackgear then should looks ok. :?

The icon I made is a duplicate of the 1/35th Dragon model kit in the pictures. The large capacity ammunition magazines around the pedestal make the mount look taller. In the actual pictures you posted, there are no ammunition magazines around the pedestal, which makes the mount appear shorter because of the taper from top to bottom.
