Yes, it is. You have the Grondel's random hero script replacing the vanilla hero mechanicso_t_d_x wrote: Tue Jun 09, 2026 8:28 am Finally i have the time do really dive into your mod and i have to say that you lifted spain on a whole new level. I super enjoy playing it.
I deactivated heroes, but still can promote heroes. Is that intended ?
At least i have to pay for them now.
Let me know what you think of the next campaigns; I think the difficulty level will gradually increase. But my advice to everyone is to play without overstrength, not heroes
Hello, difficult question... did you try to switch the game to german? Some vanilla text might switch with it, but I never tried thisMagic1111 wrote: Tue Jun 09, 2026 11:32 am @ Andrea69
I’ve already played through the vanilla AO once.
Now I’d like to do it again using this mod. Since the mod unfortunately isn’t available in German, I wanted to ask if it’s possible to replace at least some of the text—specifically the parts that the mod didn't alter compared to the vanilla version—with the original German files (presumably those unrelated to the campaign descriptions).
Do you think this is feasible, and if so, how? Which files would be involved?
Thanks in forward!
I always have the game set to German in the settings. I hadn't started playing the mod yet; I wanted to ask about that beforehand. I'll try it.Andrea69 wrote: Tue Jun 09, 2026 2:50 pm Hello, difficult question... did you try to switch the game to german? Some vanilla text might switch with it, but I never tried this
As I was telling you, I have never tried this solution, so having a mix of German and English is just a possibility, but I invite you to try it anyway.Magic1111 wrote: Tue Jun 09, 2026 6:44 pmI always have the game set to German in the settings. I figured that since there isn't a full German translation for the mod, I could just have a mix of German and English—meaning the text that doesn't differ from the vanilla version would be in German, while the mod-specific text would unfortunately have to be in English.
I think you get what I mean, though, right?![]()
1. Well, in general in this mod I advise you to forget about big encirclements... since it is a feature of the game that I have never appreciated I did not pay attention to it in the creation of the scenarios, but this does not exclude that in some cases they are still possibleo_t_d_x wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2026 10:22 am In AO Redone Spain you will have definitly a mix of german and english.
By the way: The mission before madrid 39, where the player must destroy fleeing troops has some minor issues:
1. Encirceling doesnt work always as it should, some mountains seem to be passable terrain, regarding supplys.
2. This was the first map, that i lost. I didnt realize soon enough, that normal enemy troops dont count. Didnt i read the briefing carefully enough, or is there no info about that fact ?
This surprises me, it's the first time I've been told it's easier than vanilla. Your air power was impressive, but this encourages me to make it more difficult in the next versiono_t_d_x wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2026 10:22 am Battle of Ebro was easier then vanilla, but i had lots of artillery and anti air of the italians. And 5 BF9s did a good job with this annoying republic airforce.![]()

Yes, I forgot about the nationalist AI, that's definitely a factor to considerbiohazard15 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2026 9:10 amPlease don'tAndrea69 wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2026 3:20 pm This surprises me, it's the first time I've been told it's easier than vanilla. AOR SCW does feel easier than vanilla - thanks to player-controlled Nationalists. Especially in missions with them on the offensive, such as Teruel and Corunna Road. I wouldn't say Ebro was much harder, more like different - new objectives encourage more agressive play, which was probably the idea behind them.
I'll probably add an elite objective in the next versionbiohazard15 wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2026 9:10 am Never had any problem with Catalonia mission, vanilla or redone. Block the roads (especially the railroad) and shoot stuff that doesn't shoot back. Good place to get some overruns. Wish there was an elite objective to capture Barcelona, with some nice reward like, say, Neubaufahrzeug (by the time you get it in Norway, it's mostly outdated, although still good against infantry)
