I'm not sure but between 7 and 10 I believe. Thought I was away for 3 days at some point but warned him. Our units haven't clashed yet but his line is severly weakened by missile fire.

SawyerK won this battle after a hard fought conflict. The Greeks were fortunate to have survived a number of charges by the Veteran Italian Foot without disruption and then benefited from their spears wearing down their opponents after the initial shock. Thanks to CaptainWalterSavage for a good game!

As usually the challenged and not the challenger, I am starting to get a bit unhappy about the rule that the challenger can have allies but the challengee can't.
The challenger (who is usually lower ranked) is already getting a points advantage (although not all players avail themselves of this). He also has the choice of which player to challenge - and needn't challenge if he doesn't fancy the army lists matchup.
It seems unfair that in addition to those advantages, the challenger can offset any perceived deficiency in his army list by the use of allies, but the challenged player can't.
Overall, I think the system is weighted too much in favour of the challenger.
There doesn't appear to be any technical reason why the challenged should not be able to choose allies - the challenger can't set up the game anyway until the challenged player has agreed the challenge in writing, at which time he could specify any allies.

Not anymore. That FP differential was removed quite some time ago.

Fair enough, I had not noticed, since I am not setting up my games anyway, but why does the challenger need any advantage other than the freedom to pick his challenges taking army lists into account?
(Not that the ability for the challenged player to bring allies would make any material difference to Eric's challenge as the Spartans don't have any allies with usefully different troop types. But the challenger not being able to bring allies either would make a massive difference to the matchup.)
Anyway, what I am saying is that, in my opinion, either no allies should be allowed at all, or both players should be allowed to use them.

He may not need any other advantage, but you could look it as a way to incentivise challenges.
And after all, everyone is free to enjoy the advantage of allies through making challenges of his own.
