The battle between 7-SawyerK (Gallic 300-101 BC army and Samnite ally) and 3-Schmolywar (Greek Mercenary 46-281 BC) ended in a draw after a hard fought 24 turn conflict. The Gallic army warbands had some individual success but their over pursuits continually exposed them to flank attacks while the Gallic cavalry was prevented from flanking maneuvers by forests, rough ground, and well placed peltast units by the Greeks. The Greek veteran hoplites proved a tough unit to crack even against superior warbands and both armies were fought out and exhausted by nightfall. My compliments to Schmolywar on a great battle!

Close game, could have gone either way or even a draw as we were running close to the time limit.

Oki. Please note though that Aetius39 is away on vacation (with severe FoG2 abstinence, I'm sure), back on Friday (Korean time), so this challenge can stand active until then. But so that you don't expect an immediate response, ok?

Did YOU have a nice vacation by the way?

Yes, that's correct. Look in the second post of this thread. They've been resting with Wellsonian for quite some time and are now in a battle again, but not yet resolved.

Challenge set up

password is EGL300
The Bruttians seized a large rough hill and several surrounding forests to defend and counter from. The Selucids attempted to flank them with their horse and some supporting infantry, while subjecting the Bruttians to prolonged barrage of fire from their skirmishers. Though the Bruttians lost a good deal of their screening lights, they successfully repelled both flanking moves destroying or driving off the cavalry and infantry involved, resulting in a draw.

Rankings remain the same. Armies are swapped.

Since Aetius39 is out of contact until his return from holiday and the existence of an alternate challenge to him from Ericdoman1, I have cancelled my challenge to him.
