They are only asterisked in the Army List preview, not in the actual force selection at the start of the battle.

You have no access to armoured lancers in a French army? I think you will have to be a bit more specific, in what exactly you are trying to set up.

Not complaining, just curious.
Bump.

Sorry, I missed this post until you bumped it.

Well, it is the same reason that you don't get a completely free choice of units in each army list - i.e. because the game is designed to be as historical as possible.

However, we have allowed an over-ride to allow historically implausible "what if" matchups, and I guess we could have done something similar for allies. To be honest it never occurred to us to do so. We will think about it.

Yeah, I'd love to have an ahistorical allies filter.
You know, have the Achaemenids and Sassanids join forces in a Time-Traveling Persian Duo. Or, in a less extreme example, say having a Jewish-Arab alliance fighting the Parthians.

I own Field of Glory II and have purchased the Legions Triumphant, Immortal Fire & Rise of Persia DLCs. When I start my game, it shows FoGII 1.5.3 [Build 10009]. Checked my downloads, and indeed that is the Update Compilation version that I have - downloaded on 12/14/2018.

How can this new update be 1.5.12? When I download & attempt to install it, the installer says that I already have a newer version of the game installed.

What's going on?

EDIT: I think I discovered my issue. Somehow, I must have downloaded and installed a MOD [version 1.5.3]. I see in that thread that one must not install in the original game folder. Well, I must have. I didn't even realize that I installed a MOD. So, do I need to uninstall my entire game and start over?
That would seem wise.
VPaulus wrote: Fri May 31, 2019 10:57 am In other words, please try the following:

1. Uninstall the game
2. Download the last game installer file v1.5.12. from the Member's Area
3. Install the game
4. When asked to insert the serial number, please click in the drop down menu "Select a New Product to Install... " and select "Field of Glory II".
Type your "Field of Glory"serial number.
5. Click in the button "Check Serial".
You should see then the name "Field of Glory" being added to the list of games displayed in the box named "Setup as detected a valid serial number for:".
6. Do the same in step 4 and 5 for unlocking all your other DLCs.
7. Then click on the "Next" button in order to proceed with the installation of the base game and your DLCs.
Thanks for that! All fixed and now patiently waiting for Empires!
