Hi guys,l'm sorry if I'm missing something obvious over this discussion on camels but I'm confused at what the issue is.
Per the rules of both PC and TT, camelry will auto disorder any adjacent mounted BG (whether friendly or not)
I just made a quick scenario w camels and it works as it should....
If they are not doing this in your scenario perhaps they arnt coded correctly as camels? ( the editor can be finicky and if you change something while editing the units stats that the editor doesn't like, it sometimes changes all your stats , for that BG....)
Also, if for whatever reason you want to have camels coded as "elephants" in your scenario, there is no need to mess around w the XML scenario file at all.
Jut Slap down in the editor the appropriate BG graphic you find that looks like a camel, then right click and change the class to elephant (you don't need to even change anything else, for when you hit enter the bG will now have all the correct stats for elephant class but will look like the camel...( I just tested this as well in case something changed in the latest patch and it works)
BTW if you code your camels as elephants they will only move 3 hexes, (and as RBS pointed out) be really too good vs infantry, they wont have any armour class or impact weapon, can only be average quality wont evade, etc...
OH btw, you can give elephants rear rank missle weapons, they appear to work fine (although I haven't tested if the AI will use them I assume it would...) (sadly I attempted to try to give non light cavalry javelin capability , and although it works for a human, the AI treat such armed cavalry as skirmishers but never shoots...I think the AI is coded to treat anything w a javelin as a "light troop")
Again, apoligise if Im missing some obvious thing and misunderstanding your posts.
Cheers!
