This one was a another tremendous scenario! It was a tough slog to fight through the city and crossing the river was non-trivial. It is a nice change of pace from the wide open desert scenarios. Seeing the skies fill with British paratroops was an awesome and unique twist. My overall strategy was to cross the east side of the river with the Italian 2nd Armored Division and then use my Panzer and SS Panzer divisions to cut through the center of the city and then strike toward Shaiba Airport. It was an overall well balanced scenario overall, though if anything favoring the easy side, even using a core that aspires to be historically-based. I would recommend adding a Churchill or two to the Shaiba Airport area and maybe a bit of artillery.

Holy Crap!!! You guys are EVIL!!! I'm in the Beta 3 Basra scenario, playing FM, and 14, I say again...FOURTEEN paras just ruined my day. Have NO idea how I'm getting out of this alive, but I love it. Now you're talking about a challenge! Please excuse me while I go back and attempt to save what I THOUGHT was going to be a DV from being a defeat.

Ok, surprisingly that swarm of paras wasn't as bad as I envisioned. Don't get me wrong, they were trouble, but I thought a DV was out of the question when they appeared and as it turned out that was premature. I have to agree with monkspider though, once you're through Basra it's all good. There really needs to be some beefing up at the airport to make it a bit of a challenge. And here I disagree with monkspider. I think there should be at LEAST 4 or 5 more units at the airport, with arty and AA as well.

On another note, with all of those victory hexes I can't understand why one does not get to hoist a victory flag in any of them? I'd noticed this in other scenarios as well, but just assumed that wasn't a priority in AK, but you DO have them in scenarios that imo are far easier to win against.

First impression: a hard limited amount of deploying slots. I wasn't able to deploy all units before the first turn, one unit had to wait for turn 2.
Especially the amount of air slots was to small to deploy my paratroopers. But I was not able to deploy them as ground unit, how can I deploy them as ground unit?
