I guess this would have been another good reason for getting the replayer to ship out in the current release.
Why do you automatically assume technical issues? Just because you and others haven't seen it?

It's not so uncommon to see bugs like this in a game, here.... I just pulled 2 from the net with a quick search:

Like I said so many times.... I was 100% sure about what I saw on the Barbarossa map:

I was quite sure that it was a bug, so I was determined to find it. I took me days of testing and I also know what's causing it. I let you guys guess for now... :)

Thanks for the bug report. When I have spare several days, I'll check it out.

I think you missed the part in my post that reads:

Any guess? (and yes, I will explain today what's causing it)

I can repeat that if I change those units to Allied.

Exactly that's what happening. I did some testing and this is what most likely happens.

If you click twice on the "End turn" button, while one of your units is still fighting with an enemy, it will first come up with the weather screen, after that the game will skip the enemies turn, the AI will then take over your game (moving your own pieces and what we're seeing in the video) and after it's finished, it will continue with another turn, but this time to move his own units. After this turn is over, everything returns to normal.

I don't know why it happened to me, because I can't imagine clicking on the next turn button several times, but what might have happened is that I thought my turn was over (while I was still involved in an attack in which I was shooting at my target, that was also defended by other units), that I wondered why nothing happened when I clicked the next turn button and decided to click it a second time. I hope it's not all too confusing. :)

That's a good finding.

The biggest thing i have noticed with this bug it appears only to happen on windows xp sp3.And not on windows 7 64bit.Or could it be something to do with multi core cpus?

Are you sure about that? I'm on Vista 64 bit, so it's also happening on that OS.

I've uploaded a new video that should show the issue in more detail:

@Wings, that is quite a bug. I just tested it on my system and that bug will happen on the other scenarios as well. Just do like you said and multiple click on End Turn while during a combat animation. Slipped by us beta testers, but, in our defense, I never would have thought of hitting End Turn multiple times while in the middle of a battle. Good catch and thank you for bringing it to their attention. I'm sure it'll get addressed in a patch. It is funny to watch in action, though, like the AI is playing itself.

And it's happening with Win7 as well. With all scenarios that I was able to test.

Edit: It was a hell of a job to replicate this bug, wasn't it wings?! :)

I've been a professional programmer for many years (RPG II/III on IBM systems) and I consider this a bug. Sure, people shouldn't double click on that button twice, but it doesn't change the fact that 2 players have done this already and how many did this who never visit the forum? Why do I get the impression that you were a beta tester, considering your defensive post with all capitals and an exclamation mark?

If you think that beta testers, no matter how good they are, will catch every issue, well then I have news for you; they don't and I say this with ALL my respect for all beta testers. There are no games of this size that don't have any bugs, regardless how good the developers are, no matter how well it's tested, the removal of bugs is a continuous process.

Trust me, I can totally understand why it wasn't noticed, you just need to happen to stumble over this one.

Great catch! Thanks for reporting this.
