At the end of turn 34. Russians continue to retreat, I am pondering on what strategy to adapt here....it is obvious that he will go for Moscow. I am not sure if i am to build up a 2 line defense and sweat it out until winter arrives or if i even should retreat and let him have Moscow only to counter attack when severe winter hits. Any suggestions?

My guess here is that Max will divert some of the southern troops to head north and assist the drive on Moscow. So i put almost all tanks just south of Moscow, that way i force him to keep a strong prescence in his flank....

Manage to do 1 damage on the oilfields of Rumania, i need atleast 4 more runs to make any difference. I doubt that i will have one more shot. I am wondering if i should abandon this section, maybe just protect Stalingrad. He won´t do down in the Caucasus now this year...Don´t think he will have time since it is not fun to get stuck there with axis forces during winter.

I was a little sad to see that Max dared capture Smolensk, that means he can rail up his Luftwaffe to strike on pretty much everything. This turn i retreated to a solid 2 line defense around Moscow with tank formations just south. Also a partisan popped up just between Pskov and Novograd, nice

will maye give me an extra turn fortifying. Ahhhh...there are so many fair weather turns left.....i figure 5 more turns. Max needs one turn to move up units and the Luftwaffe then he will have atleast 4 turns before i am saved.

Also retreating behind Kharkov. Strat bomber moved out of Crimea....
I forgot to take pictures after the turn, i decided not to land in either France or Italy so i am putting my long term plan into work. You will find out soon enough.....think it might be a good one.

I would try to save Moscow at all costs and abandon the south. Max will capture a lot of PPs in the south, but this is not too bad for you, since he did not build up a strong economy by focusing on Barbarossa. However, if he captures Moscow in 1941, you will be in a very bad position. If he really goes for Moscow, he will get it in 1942, but you should not let him have it 1941. Rail everything there you have, and keep you armor around Orel, threatening his flank. It will be tough, good luck!

Sounds good, i hope i can survive this one....it will be tough. Actually i am starting to think about how i can defend beyond Moscow. Never happen to me before...

Max can't overcome massive infantry falanx around Moscow, entrenched in forest terrain. He have not so many troops (especially infantry). So he is unlikely to get Moscow unless you allow him for good. Just continue drafting troops and entrench them around city. And if all good troops will leave south to participate in attack, strike south with your numerous armour formations.

Northern advances, this is probably the least interesting part for Max as i seems. Not much happening, one gar destroyed just south of Leningrad.

Oh my my my......instead of retreating properly behind the river i placed units on wrong side thinking that he won´t reach me cause zone of control......

Wich means if you present an opportunity like that to Max if will ofcourse take it.....so stupid.....it´s not like he needs help or anything to make this campaign easy!!!! Anyway 2 tanks destroyed and 2 mechs and one inf.

In the south nothing bad like in the midsection, failed attack on Kharkov, retreating time here as well...

Italian corp destroyed....defenses solid around Moscow.

Retreat to the nex river and hope to put up a solid defense...

Pretty quite in the Med, just bombading italian gar

Tank heading for Portugal, i plan on making an ambhibious landing so i have a foothold and to place strat bombers to cover the whole atlantic.

Before my turn 37

Germans coontinue to push on Leningrad

Disaster strikes again.....how can i be so ignorate....ofcourse he will follow the retreating red army and destroy as much as possible....not much left here....i think i will do as Stalin did early in the war, retreat to a dark corner, not say a word and contemplate the meaning of life....

Pretty good solid defense around Moscow anyway, they are starting to get higher organisation as well, also reinforce Leningrad a bit, i can hold it until winter arrives....

In the south there isn´t much left....now i am getting real angry...throwing away an entire force like that!!!!

I ain´t gonna loose this game.....THIS MEANS WAR!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RAF launches an attack against Luftwaffe step 4 fighter in Paris, got 3:1 odds and mounted an 4:2 attack. Fighter destroyed, feels a little better as compensation for my blunders in the east....one less to worrie about

Intense fighting around Leningrad

Max continues to mop up the rest of the retreating Russians.....think this will be the end of his advance....winter is closing in...

Destroy a german corp and surounds another, don´t think max will have any trouble breaking out of that one though....

Attack is sett to go on Portugal next turn....

Max will probably reach Penza-Saratov-Stalingrad-Rostov line in the south and this is pretty much progress for the germans in 1941. Anyway, because of Max´s strong Barbarossa and his weakness in the rest, you are doing well when you are putting some early pressure in the west by attacking Portugal and by achieving air superiority in France.

What 1 tank will do in Portugal? Will not it be destroyed by Portugal army?

I think you are right, he won´t be able to rail units out of there, maybe i can use that to my advantage. Do you think i should attack during winter campaign? if i build 2 more fighters i will atleast have air parity with the germans even during summer, cause i have passed him i fighter research with the russians.

I think you are right in your attempt to increase the pressure in the West. Your situation in Russia is bad, now that most of your offensive capability is destroyed. Max will not have to fear anything from the Russians until at least Winter 42/43. If you allow him to put that freedom to good use, you will be in serious trouble and could end up losing Moscow and the Oilfields. However, I wonder whether the strategic value of Portugal is high enough to invest resources there. I think I would focus on either Italy or a bombing campaign against Ploesti and the German industry/railways.

3 bb, 2 cv and one tank, figure it Will take 2-3 turns, there are only 2 gar in portugal so tjej wont interfere, german subs are busy.

I think you are in a good position for prematurely knocking out the finns of the war. Not sure what to do in Moscow area since it seems that Max has decided to dig in his troops in order to have more effectiveness and entrenchment for the german units when severe winter hits.

I think you have to be very careful in Russia. It won't take much in terms of a good stoush somewhere for you to start to run out of enough Russian's for later in the war.
I wouldn't be throwing away to many Russian's at this stage.
