Oh - you wanted expansions? ;) We had all these were just playing ourselves. I guess we could release them! :)

There is plenty of cool stuff in the pipeline - we've been busy working on both 1.6 (with lots of new features) and also the Mac version (killing me though it is) for our Appley friends.

Cheers

Steel panther, which I like, have a more complicated combat system actually. Though, The two games defenitly have resemblance. I hope it would evolve somewhat like steel panther and include modern days too.

Lets get this game right first!!!!

Really hope you guys are actively developing an Eastern Front version. I'm pretty loyal to this fun, quick and simple system but three Western front expansions is, well, starting to get a bit samey. Stalingrad to Berlin has a ring to it?

We agree to some extent. One of the issues is that people want to play Axis - and if we use the early Russian campaign for that (where you get to win as the axis) you don't get all the cool stuff which many people want to play with - it's more the early war units again.

So our current plan (which is always subject to change) is for Sealion (of course), followed by an Axis campaign set in Western Europe - packed with Tigers and Panthers. Following that, well, I know for a fact that we have a load of Pacific units built, as well as some Eastern front units. So it's a matter of settling on a design that we think ticks all the boxes.

We are always open to suggestions as to the areas and units people are most interested in!

Cheers

I'm amazed and delighted to learn that a Pacific expansion is a possibility. I hadn't imagined that to be likely at all. I know Junk2Drive (I think) put out a sort of Pacific test scenario and I liked it very much but IIRC he didn't seem optimistic about a further development.

OK, I'd buy and enjoy the proposed new expansions and the idea of a pacific or an early German campaign in Russian floats my boat too. But once you've exhausted all the other possible permutations, then, perhaps, maybe, you might, go on, just for me, let me push a few T34's and SMG squads around a tractor factory?

I made about three Pacific campaigns that you can download and play. I didn't get a lot of feedback on them.

I have made scenarios for a few different games and I am just not very good at it. I started a carryover campaign for the Japanese paratroops in the Dutch East Indies but the constant changes to the game caused me to stop and wait for things to settle down. Plus playtesting the battles gives me a "more of the same" feeling and I just can't seem to come up with a better way to challenge the player.

I played your pacific scenarios. Thanks for making them, I really enjoyed them. I'm also impressed you got your head around building them. I had a go once, and, well, yes, the amount of community scenarios that are available speaks volumes!
10 out of 10 junk2drive. Hey, can I interest you in an idea about a fire-fight in a tractor factory?

I apologize for failing to give feedback on your Pacific scenarios. And I don't agree at all that you're not very good at scenario design! Question: I believe you said once that you didn't think BA could model Pacific warfare well because it's based heavily on armor and of course the Pacific didn't see much armored warfare. Do you still feel that way?

Thanks,

Tim

Thanks for the comments.

With IGOUGO games, combined arms battles is a bit like chess and battles with mostly infantry is more like checkers. People like to watch tanks in action. A bunch of troops vs a bunch of troops gets stale soon.

Plus I have been very busy with Matrix Panzer Command Ostfront.

A good campaign to play Axis other than in Russia should be a Tunisian campaign, a lot of attack and counterattack actions :D

Well, I for one want to play the Russians. And, apparently at least one other agrees:

I wonder if I'll become as callous with my troops lives as certain Russian generals and marshals... (To say nothing of a certain German chancellor, if I were playing the Axis.)

Enjoyed playing the Operation Sealion scenario with the boats in it, great fun. Certainly a bit of light relief after the defendathon which preceded it (which was completed more down to luck than any great strategic skills). Anyway a great feature and certainly one that would be worth incorporating into future campaigns.

As you're proposing a Pacific campaign what about including an amphibious assault or two? If you ever get round to the much anticipated (by me and mattymo anyway) Eastern Front, a river assault across the Volga at Stalingrad or Danube/Lake Balaton in Hungary* would be cool.

* Anyone thinking the Battle of the Bulge was the last significant German offensive of WWII should read up on the Siege of Budapest and Operation Fruhlingserwachen.
