Okay! That gives us 6. If Ironclad still wants to join in, we'll need to scrounge an 8th body.

1. Remember your restrictions: Romans, no elites + 50% superiors; Lowlanders and Highlanders no elites. 400pts and the draw is:
>iandavidsmith vs Archie
>Blathergut vs TGM
>deadtorius vs batesmotel

Have at it, hairy ones! :) How about the first chieftain/general posts a challenge with the password: hairy
Submit scores (BG counts and casualties). I might do something with them.

The scummy Romans have invaded our tranquil hills! I'd thought I'd left that all behind in Alexandria!

Now that our quiet hot springs (including hot and running maidenettes) have been disturbed (and the blastered TGMers have cut down all our trees and flattened all our hills)(i.e., the battlefield doesn't have a single pebble to trip a Roman with!!!), we shall stomp them liken we doeth unto our grapes!!!!!!

As Romans are we allowed to grab the Spanish, Illyrians, Thorakitai and elephants from the main list??? Perhaps it was mentioned before but I probably missed it somewhere.

Ya, I guess. No distant allies. But one assumes Caesar could have dragged elephants into Gaul. We can all think on it, what to restrict. Probably should just be Romans, maybe some Greekie types from around the south of Spain, Spanish or Gaul traitors...but whatever for now. Am open to ideas to keep it a certain "flavour."

Two more would-be chieftain champions:

ironclad (Romans)

How about ironclad post a passworded game...400pts as above (note the restrictions)...

welcome to the hairiness :)

I think we will keep it to 8 now, so it's not too big.

Well if we are using the LRR list w no allies (plus the 50% rule and no elites) I would say for flavour allow any of the Gauls and Spaniards, no Pacs and no Eastern style horse. ( you might recognise this army that is coming for your bubblettes... I mean Gaulettes)

Gladiators? Maybe only if the Romas are defending home turf?

Okay...went through the DAG:

NO allies; no Thracians, Thureophoroi, Elephants, Syrian Archers

Gladiators if Roman is fighting another Roman. :)

Fight with whatever you are using this time...no big deal.

Keep the ideas coming!

Am thinking, re: allies, once you know your opponent, you can call for allies (1?? allowed). Gain an extra 75?? (is this too few?) pts...but as mentioned, if he dies... :) Maybe to a max. of 100?? over opponent's army size? Your opponent wouldn't know you are bringing them...hmmm...but they would see that someone didn't have an opponent...hehehe...

You could always fight for a draw in such a case...then call in an ally of your own :)....hhMMMmmmm...ideas...ideas...

Let me know what you think!

T.G. Musculus reports a victory for Rome over some wine stained, hairy footed shaggies in the Aquitainian region.
We are certain the enemy chieftain was killed, but alas, no flashes for our cameras to get a screenie to collect the bounty.

Rome 18/34
Shaggies 43/43

Dateline: Somewhere in Gaul

Sighting the Roman intruders, Deeter Mendix, The Gallic One (formerly ruler of Transalpine Gaul) leads his loyal retainers (the Head Takers) into battle from his golden chariot. The Romans foolishly rejected an offer to leave in peace retaining possession of their heads and other body parts. Instead, they marched upon the Gallic right -- LT/jav -- holding some woods, while trying to deny their left. But Gallic retribution is on its way...

Go Rome..., no wait, go Gaul... no wait....

hey Blathergut , is there any impact to a player of the same nation if another player of that nation loses battles? Or is it a good thing for eventual domination of Gaul
Or more clearly, is the enemy of my friend a friendly enemy?
