I think Warring States Chinese would be veery good, and what the MF lose in mobility in V2 the chariots gain in impact and resistance to shooting.
I would go with the mixed battle groups. This is an army that can put out a serious amount of firepower and can still fight.

Late Romans but Proxy Splintered Light Saxons/Arthurians

You get the great figures and you can be King Arthur. I don't care for the Post-Roman Brittish list myself but a Foederate or Dominate Roman with these figures would be very nice.
Late Dynastic Egyptian is interesting. Unfortunately, I don't think there are a lot of figures for it. I would do it with New Kingdom figures. You get the nasty superior bow light chariots and you can take quite a bit of armored hoplites.

I think the period with Armored Hoplites has Heavy Chariots.
The chariots troops are probably very assyrian looking at this point.
