Lufwaffe is so effective, i had to retreat if i want to have any RN left. All these attacks with airpower must have been burning oil. It feels like he can´t be in good shape for Barbarossa. I haven´t seen any sub production either so convoys are coming in from time to time. Axis surface fleet is no more.

Well, from my experience and from fact, that early tanks and fighters burn only 2 oil, and mechs - 1, while after Romania and Hungary entry axis have 50+ income they physically can't have oil problems during '41 campaign. They will of course, but later in the game ('42 pz IV tanks consume 5 oil, for example ).

Hi plaid, nice to see you in here. Thanks for the comment on oil usage, you are right, Axis does not have trouble before 41, it just seems like he has been using alot and will run into trouble in 42 at the latest. I have plans to make sure that happens also.

He can still get the Luftwaffe to Russia for Barbarossa, but you do know it won't come early!
Also, all this air activity will mean he has to watch his oil for 42, might mean more Mech's than Armour in Barbarossa.

To know that it doesn´t come early is so nice, he has spent a lot of PPs on reparing those air units so i don´t think we are gonna see a very impressive Barbarossa.

Earlier in this AAr i asked myself that question about oil and he has to be in trouble, maybe not in 41 but defenetely in 42. Having this information makes me a little confused in my strategy for russia, should i risk being more offensive or just doing the classic and wait
US should come to play pretty soon after Axis declares war on russia and they are looking good with a couple air units, means that i can put some pressure on the west coast or in italy almost imediately, or both. Ha Ha Ha
Thanks for your input....

Hello Crazyg.
Looks like your opponent doing axis MED campaign, but
slightly wrong in my opinion.
He didn't secured Spain and Gibraltar or Malta first of all, so he don't have supply points to have good forces in africa. And now he tries to advance with Italians, which are 0 tech level troops (very unrelyable) and even don't get superior numbers. (By the way, do you know, that this patch of brown land near your tank works like river, providing 50% attack penalty - so I advice you to place defence line one row to the east, from where you marked ).
Why did you evacuate Solonica fortress, its spare PPs for Britain pool and it is casualties for axis, if they try to assault. There are some spare garrisons in the middle east, it was better to use one of them, I think.
But still attack of Greece by ground can lead to very long and hard campaing for axis(because of rugged greek terrain), especially with this bulgarian weak units.
About barbarossa, it can be as late as september in fact, but if your opponent planning to lauch it earlier, he can rebase all this planes in 1-2 turns, so don't relax

I totally aggree on the Med campagin, it seems like Aryaman has got trouble closing off operations. France i still have foothold in, Axis afrika kor is on the run, Greece invasion is weak and not over. I can easily land forces in France already, by the time Barbarossa starts he could have 3 fronts open already against him in 41. That can´t be to good. Solonica was not important, i figure to give athens better chance of surviving, since greek troops disappear when they fall. I think i should be fine anyway, i will just move up 3 fighters to protect. Later if Greece dosn´t fall i will bomb ploesti.
Thanks for the advice on the brown dot, didn´t know that.
The russian front, what do you guys think, is it possible to be on the offensive in 41? It´s itching in my fingers to replot my strategy in the east.

You can use this 2 small greek islands to place 2 strategic bombers, even if greece will fall.

With this situation, depending on your tech advances, building some Russian armour is a must for some counterattacks.
Also, if still holding some French cities there is no reason not to land US forces directly. Though ideally with at least a little bit air cover from Britain.

Russkies bet it all on General and Fighter so i will soon have 1 tech in fighter. I am thinking of trying and knocking out rumania and the oilfields. Both from russia and down south from Greece. Things i have working for me is, i can attack fom 2 directions and put pressure, maybe use my Med lfeet to some extent. Things working against me is the terrain, very hard to get anywhere, easy to defend.
Could also try knocking out finland
Or just strategically wait for Axis forces and do powerful counter attacks in the russian mainland.

I see you purchased some soviet commanders. If i get it right, you can't deploy them before USSR DoWed, and you can't deploy any other units (british, for example), until you place this commanders. Or there is some way to scroll force pool i don't know about?

You deploy them on the turn of DOW and you use the scroll buttons on the right hand side of the units to be deployed, to scroll through.
Cheers

You can also just click on the unit to place the next in line, doesn´t matter what unit.

It´s retreating time, not much happening in the north either. I wanna keep contact with the Axis so i can counter attack and also take full advantage of the winter.

After this post i think i missed a couple of shots. Sorry about that, nothing major happened though.
