Yes, I can't accept Hoplite's challenge either.

Furthermore, challenges created with the TT Mod should show as requiring the full name of the mod; "TT Mod Custom Battles 1.6.8". Kronenblatt's challenge is like this.

But if you look at Hoplite's challenge it says "TT_Mod_MPV1.6.8", that is the name of the mod folder! So I would guess that his version of the mod became corrupted during download, and his version of Text1.txt file is missing the full name of the mod (and probably other data as well!).

That would NOT stop you picking up the challenge, it would just mean it did not synch correctly in play, and you would get the "scripts changed" warning at the start of a turn.

The reason you could not pick up the challenge would probably be that Hoplite1963 had renamed the folder on his machine. Or had the correct folder name, but put it inside the wrong folder - e.g. if he put it in his main build \Multiplayer folder instead of the \Documents\My Games\FieldOfGlory2\Multiplayer folder.

Anyway, because his build does not match yours in terms of folder name and/or folder location, as far as the game is concerned, his version of the mod is an entirely different mod from yours, hence why you cannot pick up the challenge.

To reiterate, if it did have the right folder name and folder location, but was otherwise changed, you COULD pick up the challenge but the games would not synch correctly in play. That is why you MUST use a new folder name (with a version number) each time a mod is updated, to avoid people inadvertently trying to play each other with different versions.

I thought this might be the answer, because depending upon how you unzip the download, you can end up with the TT_Mod_MPV1.6.8 folder inside another. If Ian (Hoplite1963) had then pasted the whole thing into his Multiplayer folder that would explain everything we have experienced. But he insists that he hasn't done this, he also says another player has recently accepted a different TT Mod challenge.

So it's all very curious. I have asked him to post another challenge and we can check if we can accept it.

No, I have never intended to release a TT Med. I don't think it would be worthwhile, as vanilla already has a very comprehensive range of armies (with individual banners). I don't think it would add much of value/interest.

Yes, you are. You didn't read the sentence before the link; " The full list of changes is far too long to print here, but you can download a text file detailing all the changes here:"

So the link is only to a text file that details all the changes in the mod.

The links to the mod itself are further down the post.

My bad, sorry was frantically redownloading all my game files and preferred mods (against the clock) before we emigrate in 2 days, sorry for wasting your time Paul.

Can it be used on the Historical campaigns (like the ones from DLCs) or it only works for sandbox campaigns?

Due to the way that mods work in Field of Glory 2, it only works for the sandbox campaigns.
