With more factions, teaming up can still take place through diplomacy and alliances.
Of course, it also depends on which factions people are willing to play. If people are only interested in 4 or 5 factions, then you may end up with teams by default.
So, you might want people to list 3 factions they'd be willing to play and go from there.

Given the number of factions, I'm a little leery of team play as that will cut down on the active factions and leave more inactive areas open for exploitation by those neighboring such to the disadvantage of those not neighboring such.
Not necessarily, since player factions will still need to fight battles against non-player city state factions to conquer their towns and cities.

Ok, guys, then I'll see how we'll set it up in the end: each player being his own faction, or in teams with each faction consisting of more than one player but the number of armies within all factions being the same. However, everyone will get to control the number of armies that he desires, whether 1, 2, 3, or maximum 4.
So when you post your interest in this campaign (also for those having already expressed interest), please then also post your top- five lists of towns or cities to start in, in priority order (only one town or city per culture).

The rules seem a little bit complicated.
The rules are not complicated, I believe, but I write them in an over-complicated way, due to English not being my native tongue and due to my obsession of covering all possibilities that can arise...

Plus that I'm "damaged" from often reviewing or drafting legal documents.

Sorry about that.

It's turning out very interesting! As someone else already mentioned, I'd prefer to control only 1 army, and I rather have more factions playing than fewer with multiple players on the same one, but I'm quite open to experimenting as this seems quite a flexible map.
My preferences in no particular order(couldn't really decide):
Lilybaeum (Carthaginian)
Syracuse (Syracusan)
Ancona (Umbrian)
Interamna (Hill tribes)
Neapolis (Greek)

Looking good Andreas
Looks like almost everyone is in line to get their first choice.
Any idea on timescale to start ?

Thanks! Just leaving it open for a few more reliable and not too-competitive players to join (of course they can also enter later on, with a single Town or City), so middle of this week (say Thursday). How does that sound?

Here's also a
draft module of army lists to play around with in
single-player (i.e., in
Custom Battles) (see zipped file attached above), so unzip/extract and then copy the unzipped/extracted folder and its file contents into the following folder:
\\Documents\My Games\FieldOfGlory2\CAMPAIGNS\
You can then find it, in
Field of Glory II: Ancients, under
Custom Battles, through clicking on
Select another module.
Please let me know about any errors, etc., that you find.
The final versions for multi-player and single-player to be published in-game for download there, once ready.
Has anyone tried this out and can advise it looks to be in good order (no bugs, etc.)? Then I can ask RBS to publish it as version 1 for both multi-player and single-player. Thanks.

The timescale is good for me.
Re the mod ...I loaded it up to check out the army lists and they all loaded fine but I haven't played any battles with them.
