Just wanted to point out that all is right with the world and Dave R, as expected, was in 2nd place.

Hi Marc

Just for the record where could I find the full results by team for last year?

Thanks

Rob

Thanks to Marc and all of the players I played against for making my return to singlesish wargaming very enjoyable.

Apologies once more for my slowness.

However have a better understanding of the game now. Although will never be as good as I was at DBM due to lack of (NONE) practice in between comps. BUT near enough back into "the Zone" so be prepared for "can you do that", "leave one base behind" etc.

Hopefully see many of you at Warfare

Cheers

Eric

So it was a strategic disaster for you, but you snuck out a gamey tournament win.

Pete this is surely a sign of arthritis and old age, when the young ones are nipping at your heels and about to over take you. No wonder you missed Lisbon, you weren't sure you're rocking chair was available.

And here was me thinking that the Americans would be doing everything possible to try and forget their dismal performance at Lisbon ....

Well, I destroyed three legions in the process, rode over some Light Foot and sacked the camp. Dave's army was only 11 BG's, so just need to fragment one more BG, which given that there was only one general left and holes everywhere, wasn't too tricky. I did lose 12AP though - so it wasn't a walkover by any means.

Quite right - I'm absolutely past my best and am now on the inevitable slide to mediocrity. :(

YOU and your revisionist history. I remember soundly thumping a GB team member who tried all sort of tricky rules lawyering and it helped him not. He resorted to continually evading off the table and used strategems like smoke breaks to avoid defeat.

Remind us which team won the team comp that is the ITC.

Dan didn't even win the game, it was 1-1 in the end, meaning GB bt USA 8-2.

But i'd eight two keep mentioning it :)

So basically the USA team were a bunch of bunnies with poor army choices and Dan is trying to deflect people from this fact?

Come on guys give the Americans a break.

Unless there is a lot of tongue in cheek involved (dave R 8 2 tell you this was very good though LOL)

Yes the penultimate last year of my DBM amateur career will prob never be copied again. I think the last 4 games played in, inc 1 doubles, came 2nd each time and lost ourt by a point (I think) each time.

Although my last ever DBM comp got 4, 10 vs 0 results which was nice.

I will never reach the heights of DBM due to no practice and I am about 2 years behind everybody else.

Once more though enjoyed the comp.

Heard rumours that there may well be some changes, in particular with ref to moving lf, turning and moving. Where would I find these ammendments.

Cheers

When V2 is published Eric. It will, I think, be a year plus and it won't be scrappy bits of paper but a new rule book. But no new lists, thankfully.

We received (i.e. team gb) a lot of flak from team usa last year over our fourth place finish. Only seems fair to return the favour.

The smoke breaks were to avoid your constant dismal whining Dan.
