Remember: First of the two opponents starts a game @ 600pts but each player builds army only to the permitted amount (+/- ally 75pts).

Once all choices are made, we reveal allies (if any) and then start the games.

Deeter Mendix, the Gallic One, takes offence at the Roman upstart Gauis bringing poodles into his homeland and vows to put all their heads on very small stakes. (besides, he is not thrilled about facing 500 point armies with elites) Challenge issued. PW: deeter.

Games are the same as always, except:

If you have an "ally" (i.e., one of us agreed to "send you an ally"), you have to have at least one ally general in the army and let the opposing player know which one is the other player in the campaign. Maybe they'll go gunning for him!

THIRD Beta Results:

2nd choice: Blathergut (Highland Gauls - Aquitania) Win (2713 losses) (300pts) [may recruit 400; one elite]
1st choice: Son of Thoracentesis (Archie)[Lowland Gauls] Loss (3916 losses) (300pts) [may recruit 400]

Poodiclese gains 50pts as well for being on the victorious side. He did lead a charge but managed to come away unscathed.

Well, we caught the Son of Thoracentesis without an ally...and we managed to squeak a victory!

Is 75pts too much for an ally? It's just that 50 seemed hardly worthwhile once you pay for an ally general. Thoughts? Though it does let just about everyone go for the top dogs if they want to.

good news for deeter, I got the game you posted, bad news is you won initiative :( looks like the Gauls get a shot at a Roman unfriendly map this time

It could be I'm a poor looser, but who is...

With 75pts, you seemed to overwhelm my force from the start.

However it could have just been my poor play. Lets see what the next guy says?

At this moment, I think it was to much... much to much, perhaps 50 points, which is still 10% increase.

... right, sold to the man with pointy hat.

I don't go much on this slavery lark!

Walks quietly away in chains....

ah..that's what this 'beta' is for...to try things out...it did seem a lot.

Originally, I figured, add in ally gen + 3 or 4 Roman heavies and you've used up your points for 50...but you get a lot of extra hairies for those points.

It does though give the low end guys a shot at the top end guys if they choose to.

Maybe +75 for an ally, but you can never exceed your enemy by more than 25pts? So, if I had fought TGM, I could have used the full 75. Fighting you, I'd have only gained 25.
