Oops. In my battle with Getahorse, I took Spanish allies which I see now was a no-no. Didn't seem to matter though, as they were identical to Gaul's highlander allies. BTW: I did manage to kill one of his TCs in addition to looting the camp. Does that get me anything beyond the pleasure of tossing his head over the wall of the nearest enemy settlement?

Ah, they are the same. Originally it was for flavour, keeping the western Aquitanians with the Spanish and the other tribes without, but other than some LH and maybe a few more LF, it doesn't make much difference.
Nope...no one cares about a TC. And you don't gain (well...will think on it...I suppose personally killing a rival would boost you up in status...so...will think on adding in a 50pts bonus to you if the opposing CinC or his buddy Ally bites it in your game...but that would mean TGM would already be at 550!!!!

). Maybe 25pt increments would be more feasible. Will think on it.

**Trumpets Blare**Highland Maidens Rejoice**(Cus he's goin' of ta battle and won't be botherin' 'em)
Let it be known amongst our enemies (ummm...well...which is just about everyone!

) that we are once again marshalling our invincible hordes. Send messengers (preferably maidenette ones) if you wish to take part in our great venture during this campaigning season!!!!!!!

So if i understand the rules correctly, I could ally say w Blathergut.
Assuming i win my own battle and he wins his w the help of my ally, I would reach 600 glory points and game over?
So..... what would prevent Balthery from throwing his game to prevent that .......
Makes me think that I dont want to send anyone troopies

Well, if anyone sent you an ally, they could be giving you the campaign. So hopefully no one will!
You could send someone an ally, but you risk losing your hold on the campaign, so you probably won't.
More than likely, us low dogs will gang up and try to drag you back down with us. Will you be Caesar and prevail? You'll have an advantage in the battle by 25pts plus those two damned elites if you take them.

The question now is for us mongrels, who would be best to send against you? I think another Roman. Likewise, against the top Gaul, 475pts of Romans might knock him down.

Post a note here saying you are ready to choose. (I.e., you have an ally lined up or are not going to use/send one and are ready to choose.)
Blathergut is ready to roll.
Ironclad ready to roll.
IDS ready to roll.
TGM ready to roll.

well Im quite stumped at any strategy one can utilize when at 500points, damned if you do, damned if ya dont. Bates , we should give eachother allies , none will likly come at us with a 100 ap advantage (well except for deeter who could have only a 25 ap differnce) We likly then would battle eachother and regardless who wins neither would be able to go out
muhuuuahahah

Other than you and bates, everyone is running 400 pts plus 75pts if they have an ally. You'll both be up 25pts unless you do that ally swap, damn you. That would gain you each 50pts. Hmmmmm.....maybe that's a glitch in this thing. Comments? Maybe allow double allies???

You two are the only ones with elite options in this third round.

And if I were you or bates fighting you or bates, I'd make sure I had your ally gen up there every turn!!!!

Actually....he'd have you as an ally general leading the charge into your own troops!!! ahahahahahaa

Actually , my understanding of the rules is it would basically prevent either one of us winning if we swapped allies Winner would get 50 for winning but lose 50 for giving an ally to a loser... Hmm actually that isnt a good plan as neither would gain and other players would then be in contention for round 4...
Im allset , hanging tight , House Musculus on its own amongst the cats.

No...whichever one of you lost, would go down 50pts. IF you, as your opponent's ally general, died, you'd go down another 50. I'd have you right up front!!!

So you have the potential to lose 100 and the other top dog going up to 550.
But ya, the other win would put you up 50, so net loss 50. I'll get this all yet!!!!
