This time, in the correct forum:
The scenario for Frigidas has unit lists that do not match:
Frigitas_E.BAM has 2 more LIMITANII units than Frigitas_T.BAM for the same side:

Frigitas_T.BAM
UNITTS_1_4 LIMITANII
UNITTS_1_5 AUX_ARCHERS
UNITTS_1_6 AUX_PALATINA
UNITTS_1_7 LEGIO_COMITATENSIS
UNITTS_1_8 LEGIO_COMITATENSIS
Frigitas_E.BAM
UNITTS_0_4 LIMITANII
UNITTS_0_5 LIMITANII
UNITTS_0_6 LIMITANII
UNITTS_0_7 AUX_ARCHERS
UNITTS_0_8 AUX_PALATINA

If you load the scenario, look at the back row of Limitanii units: 5 if you load the scenario as one side, 7 if you load the same scenario as the other side.

Just found 5 more units that don't match up between the two files

They aren't supposed to match exactly. They are balanced to allow the difficulty settings to work. Like all ancient battles we do not have exact numbers or exact OOBs, so we have wriggle room for such adjustments without being unhistorical.

eblingus is refering to what the players see in the game. Here is what the player of the Easter side sees:

5 Limintani per side.

From the Western players perspective it looks like this:

5 Limintani for the Eastern side and 7 Liminanti for the Western side.

This is not a bug. As I say, they are not supposed to match. The single player scenarios are effectively two different scenarios, balanced to suit the difficulty settings. On higher difficulty settings the player must choose which units to take from a number of "unfixed" units.

In one of those scenarios the Western side have 5 units of limitanei and in the other they potentially have 7. However, they will only actually get 7 units if they are playing on Difficulty level 1 or 2, or select limitanei rather than other troops in the force selection phase.

i.e. The Western side has extra units when it is the player side, to allow the player some choice in force selection if playing on a higher difficulty setting than 2. On difficulty 1 or 2 the player gets all of those optional units.

In the MP version both sides have 5 units of limitanei and both sides will see 5 units of limitanei on each side.

OK, thank you for the clarification. I did not understand in a MP game, the side would be equal. That is what eblingus and I were wondering about.

With appreciation!

One more question for you please. Both armies in the battle of Frigidus are Roman. When creating a multiplayer game it isn't easily discernible which side is which from the Player Side selection area.

My question is, is it possible to edit the MP file to show either the commanders' names or Eastern / Western in the Player Side area?

Looking to the right I see it is Theodosius v. Arbogast and I hoped Theo was the first Roman choice and Arbogast the second, which was correct; however, from a UX perspective being able to add those names would be nice.

Much obliged.

Agreed.

I will look into it.
