I have seen different claims as to the effects of elevation on POA in the forums, has it changed from that printed in the manual, viz
height difference <= 75 gives +25 POA
height difference >= 100 gives 100 POA
?

Not to my knowledge. What you write above seems correct.

No, it hasn't.

OK, thanks, I always thought that the more extreme the height difference, the greater the POA advantage, but that seems not to be the case once it's over 100. I've also seen it said that a difference of less than 50 meant a 0 POA difference.

No, it has not changed.

Which is untrue. See above.

I always thought that (...)
It is quite easy to check it by creating a basic scenario in the Editor :
1) In Tile placement mode, click :
- Control + Left Mouse Button to raise a tile by 100
- Control + RMB to lower a tile by 100
Clicking this way on several tiles will quickly provide all the height differences you want to test.
2) In unit placement mode, add units on various heights. Save the scenario.
3) Play it in Epic battles. The detailed charge tooltip will provide the info about the PoA. See "Uphill +25 or 100'.
