CS cannibalizing each other

As Dacia I have Lugii & Macedonia as clients. Now Lugii have come under pressure from some barbarians and lost regions to them. The Macedonians are super responsive to that and take those regions from the barbarians.
But: they don't go back to Lugii they are now Macedonias.
This creates a patchwork of regions and kills provinces. The only thing I can do is to trade them from Macedonia and give them to Lugii. A bit tedious and time consuming.
Helping Lugii myself isn't much better because then I'm stuck with these lands I didn't want in first place. At least then its only one trade.
Since they are both my clients I think I should have some say in who gets what.
