Edit: Sorry it was ofcourse Suicidal level ...

so this means either
I'm the greatest player evar ... not likely
Persia is a bit OP .. maybe
Insane has some bugs .. likely
Insane is too easy ... definitely.

So some suggestions for levels beyond balanced spread out among the levels where its not per level above balanced.

+1/+2 movement cost (Bridge metigate 1)
-1/-2 max roll for starting troops quality Green/Unwilling Green, gain 1xp or level/turn up to recuite, adjusted for traning camp.
+1 Impediment to every region
- Lions/Bears/Wolfs everywhere? favourite passtime of Faraos, Kings etc
- Marsh/Swamps where were common before man came around in wet environments. Remove with Drain Marsh. Even Rome had a marsh.
- Dense forrest should be a feature in all of north europe. No farm/ranch before they are cleared
+1 cost to every building of either gold, MP or iron.
-5 loyalty per level over balanced.
more corruption events for high decadence regions when fewer than 3? provinces and to not get spammed then
-1% per level over balanced of Gold, MP and iron
-1% Gold, MP and iron per Province beyond the first general corruption.
if ruler is abysmal the best general + largest army should start a rebellion
No leader gives -2 on max roll.
Worse leader quality, can start at -1/-2 which affect max roll.

Another difficulty level OMGZ

they are unbeatable, billions of troops, with the Greek you can defeat two three armies but you die exhausted under assault of many more, no interest….

So it is just Persia that is OP.

Did you had usurpers? Revolting Satraps?

If you still have it, looking at your game might be of interest ...

Persia has script immunity.

(It doesn't, at least not implicitly.)

I have the victory save, I think I had one (or two) revolt.
When you have survived taking over Media and Elam its relatively easy to go on.
Force marched to Media.
Overspent on building an extra army (bad play)
Elam just joined me before I could take it.
Then took on Babylon, took half in the first war, all but Cypress in the 2nd and lost a lot of manpower in the 3rd taking it, mostly from supply issues (some food issues I struggle with)
2 or 3 wars against Egypt not wiping it totally, I think the 1000 legacy from the last peace got me the victory.
The mega forts at Athens, Argos was the biggest trouble, Sparta was though but a they had no fort so a large enough army could take them in the end.
Took 2 wars against the Greeks as I messed up the first war.
then I saw the light ... ... just build more armies as I couldn't build so fast my money, manpower or iron went down and drown everyone in armies. The biggest problem was then the tedium of gathering the correct army units to make them effective ... army builder anyone?

I'll mail you the save.

After playing some of the factions I can say Persia is OP.
