Recurring game crash "Failed to wait for fence"

When playing every now and then (within the first hour) the game crashes with error message "proxy::video::advanceToNextFrame(void): Failed to wait for fence. 0 VK_SUCCESS"
all logs, save games and diagnostics as well as a screenshot of the error message attached.
