It gets better if you don't have 500 gold you can't sell. That is if you need gold you can't sell because you need to gold to get gold.

without save, there's not a lot to say tbh, as there maybe many reasons it's not happen, and none maybe bugwise, but without a save, the developer won't be able to say or tell what is or what isn't happening
