Who owns it?

With multiple allies in war, A+B fights together vs C. C occupied B's region, A liberates the region which now belongs to A without any conditions.

The region should have been returned to B.

Legitimate ownership should not changed until peace is concluded, so that's strange. Do you have a saved game showing this? Can you send it to support@slitherine.co.uk ?

Not exactly the same case but I've noticed that when an enemy conquers one of your regions and you conquer it back, the region still gets the "just conquered" negative modified.

I'm not sure this is wai. You are liberating you own people, why are you getting a malus for it?

If A is at war with B, and occupies Region R (original owner = B) and C declares war on A, Units of C is allowed to enter R (because A occupies it). If/When R is conquered by C, the region goes to C without any striping, meaning C owns it now. B can not enter R anymore, nor will B get it back if B makes peace with A. If C negotiates peace with A, R is not included as a region for A to cede, but is included on C's list, meaning that C well and truly "owns" R.

This has been discussed before. If I remember that discussion correctly, I believe the conclusion was that for a period of time the region's in turmoil as a result of what's been taking place. The people don't so much care who rules them, they mostly care about stability, so you need to hold the region for a while to demonstrate that stability before the malcontents stop griping about the ruler who let a foreign army march in and turn their lives upside down.

I can agree with that, but gameplay wise it means that in small wars were you can win without recovering provinces, it’s better to focus on attack ad ignore whatever the enemy has occupied, sonce it will return to you when the war is over without the penalty.

Doesnt it work like this?
