Striping

I really like the new war occupied striping. But some times its hard to discern between occupied and client state.

I suggest to turn the war occupied striping by 90°. Thus its much more easy to discern from client states.

That is a very good idea.

Was suggested in the beta process already but is currently not possible with the current engine and might be done in the future iterations of the Archon engine.

Another solution could be to use strips for war occupation only
I don't think we need a visual indication of client states on the map, in all other Grand Strategy games it's not the case
I agree it's often confusing as it stands now

A technical limitation? That is indeed a surprise.
But there are lots of other options: double lines, dotted lines, crossed lines etc... Everything is better than lines with different thicknesses.

It is a bit of a pickle; moreover, if you have to mouse-over to deduce what's being shown then what's being shown isn't really accomplishing much.

Are narrow gauge double lines doable, instead of variable thickness single lines?

I agree with this. I don't think we need a visual representation of client states as long as it is made clear they are going to join a war in a diplomacy screen when pressing the war button.

I do like to have both information on the map. It gives instantaneous information about current wars and powers without having to 'pull' that information.
Makes the game more interesting if you know whats going on in the rest of the world.

You can have it simply by clicking the diplomacy button. I agree having both infos would be the best but since it's not possible to have them both being clear at a glance, I would rather have only one
