Turning off the mini-map?

Er... after the update my UI settings have reset. It wasn't just an update, I had to restore the legacy version to finish my playthrough.
I swear I had the minimap turned off before. Now I can't find any way to do it, save for "F" to turn the whole interface off, not even on Google.
Did I only dream that we had an option for that?

There's a button in the top left that can turn off the minimap I think - no clue as to the hotkey though!

Seems in this "legacy" version (1.0.9) this doesn't exists yet - I was looking at the manual of the same, no surprise I haven't found it.
At least I am reassured of my sanity!
