MP game vanishes

Hi guys,

I love the game and play it regularly in multiplayer since it came out. Recently I bought the game for a friend on Steam and we tried multiple times to setup games in the lobby but failed. It looks like that: When I create a skirmish, he can see it in the lobby, accepts the challenge and we both get an e-mail that the challenge started. The problem is that we don't get any further. The skirmish is gone, I can't see it under "My games". When he creates one, I can't see it in the lobby and he doesn't even see it under "My games".

He checked his antivirus software (Microsoft Defender) and his firewall, but didn't notice anything suspicious.

We would be grateful for ideas and suggestions!

There are some user names which the Slitherine registration system will allow but the PBEM system cannot cope with. (We are working on fixing this). This can cause pretty much the situation you describe.

Your user name looks OK, what is your friend's? Does it contain any special characters?

If you don't want to post it on the open forum, send me a PM.

Thank you for the quick reply!

This could be a good lead. His username is "marcusaurelius". The interesting part is that if he is logging into the multiplayer, his auto saved username is shown as "marcusaurelius_slith", which is strange, because like that he has to type in manually "marcusaurelius" to log in every time.

It appears therefore that he has two logins. If he emails support@slitherine.co.uk, explaining the situation, they should be able to unify his login and then he may either be able to play the current challenge, or you can set it up again and you should both be able to see it and he should be able to play.
