I would have two or three BGs of 6 bases to charge other lights with a general attached. 4 base average BGs are fragile and you will need to charge at some stage.

Really? Before they are fragmented? Why?
(If the enemy are Fragmented, you don't need to be in 6s to charge them, and can always charge with two 4s anyway).

You see what I hoped was the possibility of shooting down Cav and other lights while screening heavy foot BG. By having so many LH BG I would hope that you could pick on enemy Cavalry BG at least three to one giving six dice needing fours to hit unless cats and then fives but with six dice you have a chance of making even them test. After the challenge I might play this army at the club just to see if it can work. The worry could be getting in each others way with so many LH BG's if a lot have to evade, still I think its worth a game to see.

In a situation where LH are facing other LH, having a BG of 6 allows you to charge without worrying about autobreaking in one turn through bad luck. You also get more benefit from attached generals. I agree you mostly want to wait for enemy to fragment from shooting before charging but you may need to force the issue at some stage and BGs of 6 are handier for that. Losing one BG of 4, gives you a BG of 6 on each flank.
Another thing to consider is to get some LF. Shock infantry only has to test to charge against other foot so having LF also gives you the option of pulling shock infantry BGs into embarassing situations.

Rather than just sitting on a horse shooting them? I wonder who will get bored first?

IC, 1 FC's, 2 TC's. 15x4 LH, Average, Unproteted, Undrilled, Bow, Sword.
15 BG's, 800 pts on the nose.
Double flank march. Very nearly brought that army to the club on several occasions

. I suspect it would annoy the hell out of your opponent as it would be akin to nailing jelly to the ceiling trying to catch it.

You would need at least 3 BG or they would be just picked on and having LF tends to slow you down with enemy shock foot I tend to stay out there way but I see what you mean by pulling them out of line. Its just me | think any foot cause a LH shooty army trouble.

After the challenge I think I'll try it out at the club too,we might just annoy two people that
night.

You might have problems against a large MF shooty army like HYW English but I've played against someone with an army with a lot of LH bow and they were a right pain in the backside. Wasn't using my normal army though.
