Game won't start halfway through campaign

I've played fine up through half of the Stalingrad scenario. When I try to play the game, the opening screen with the PLAY, editor, check for updates menu appears. When I select "PLAY", the dial spins for a couple of seconds and then the PC2 screen disappears. What's the fix?
