A couple of new guides for you guys,

The first is a really basic guide to how to play the game, including how to set up your first campaign and understanding the basic unit interactions. I also teach a few methods to make the game simplier to play. This guide is not for most, but is the guide for friends, parents and totally new players who want to make Panzer Corps 2 their first proper TBS.

The second is a deeply complex technical discussion on the "Counter Break Point". The point in which overstrength becomes more powerful than having two units as well as a very indepth discussion on how overstrength works.

Thanks, I bought PC2 on the day of its release only last month so I suppose that makes me a novice like everybody else..

Excellent first guide for newbz! and even very pleasant for others! Usually, guides for newbz are boring, I'm surprised here.

Yes , I try to keep in mind that the game is only a month old. Computer games today simply aren't like the board games of yesteryear , fully - formed and complete on the day of their debut. Now any game , great , good , bad or terrible , only attains maturity in 6 months to two years.

More and more people are becoming aware of the instructional / educational utility and possibilities of Youtube.

Never the less , How - to guides of the quality of Edmon's are still the exception , even in games that are two years old , and certainly so for games only a month old .

Indeed , despite the emotional investment in the game , and the money I paid for it , I might have dumped the game if not for Edmon and Hexaboo.

As a rule of thumb perhaps ones default position should be skepticism of any claim that in any way , shape , or form , might be motivated by self - flattery.

Whether the claim is , " how I made a million dollars " ( and so could you , if you weren't so lazy and stupid ) Or , " I won Panzercorps2 on Generalissumus because I'm the reincarnation of Frederick the Great. " ( Frederick the Great might have been on a list of the world's greatest losers if not for the intervention of a fellow that historians have generally labelled a loser ; Peter III )

Like , it strikes me as very curious that while there have been many complaints about this or that aspect of the game , this or that suggestion for improving the game , I haven't seen or noticed what --- in my opinion anyway --- is THE glaring fault ( and Edmon pointed it out ) ;

Your apparent rich variety of choices in artillery and / or tank destroyers , for example , in the game is illusory or irrelevant. ONLY one gun , as far as I have noticed , ( after Edmon pointed it out ) offers defensive support against BOTH hard and soft attacks ; the 15 cm gun.

Granted , I'm sure a Jagdtiger wouldn't be very effective against an infantry attack on your tanks. But , as things stand , it isn't just that its defense is minimal in such a case. The problem is that it is NO DEFENSE AT ALL.

Artillery , anti -tank guns , and tank destroyers are as expensive in prestige and core slots as any other piece on the board. The trouble is that in three out of four possible scenarios , these pieces might as well not even be on the board. Only useful --- AT ALL --- in one out of four possible scenarios.

I LIKE the prestige and core slot concept .... but , so far , " great " generalship seems to come down to only Pioneers , only tanks , only 15 cm guns , and only fighter aircraft. With , granted , the OCCASIONAL mountain infantry , bridging pioneer , or Stuka , thrown in .

In that case I suppose I'm waiting for a mod , not for tips from experts.

Great videos as I have come to expect from TheEdmon.

I liked the newbie guide especially.
For guys with an interest in WWII in general it might seem trivial not to put Infantry in the open or tanks in cities.
But even experienced TBS gamers seem to struggle with the concept.

And avoiding losses is also a key thing that surprisingly many casual gamers dont understand. Although its not hard or anything. They just dont do it without even noticing that they could do so much better.

For these 2 points alone its a thumbs up
