I am constantly raided by neighbors. How can I put an end to this?

I heard that if I but better relations to +25, they will stop. But that can get expensive, especially when they already hate you.

If I raise my defense level will I win the raids?

If I retaliate will they stop?

Yes, if you station enough troops in the region you will receive the message "the enemy was soundly defeated" after their incursion into your territory.

Walls help, too. Or conquer them - that will stop the raiding.

The raid defense is a factor of the combat power of your troops (any troop, so here HI are clearly worth a lot) + the combat power of the garrison you can generate in the region magnified by a coefficient depending of the wall level you have. Lets say to simplify that the third wall building probably double the worth of the garrison combat power.

That said, if you beat them back, they take damages and damaged troops AI seldom raid, so you beat them more often with garrisons and they will raid less often. I thus strongly suggest a strong wall structure, it will change a lot.
